Congratulations indeed, bee girls! How thrilling! I’d love to read a post from you, Bayla and Lucy, about your experience with the school-wide spelling bee. I remember the year I qualified like it was yesterday. I was in grade 6 at Hillside School in New Cumberland, PA, and was representing my class in the school-wide bee, hoping to advance to regionals. I lost my footing on the word heiress (“Aris?”, I meekly offered) and returned to the classroom a tad bit deflated, but recovered during recess with a kick-ass game of kick-ball.

Congrats to Lucy and Bayla. Wow…takes a lot of courage to enter a spelling bee. Does Lucy go on to another contest?

Dear Lucy, Bayla, heartiest congratulations. I am sure you had fun time spelling “tarantula” and all your other friendly animals/reptiles, etc. very fine.
