A survivor, just thrilled to be here,
struggles daily against pain and fear.
While she tries not to whine,
strings of lumps in a line
and frustration destroy her veneer.

A survivor, just thrilled to be here,
struggles daily against pain and fear.
While she tries not to whine,
strings of lumps in a line
and frustration destroy her veneer.
A sister dim-witted and bland,
Kept her head seven months in the sand,
Not one card, call or meal,
Through the cancer ordeal,
Yet her insults we’ll grin and withstand.
In response to Tricia’s Limerick Challenge yesterday:
a woman on chemo one day
thought the world was just crumbling away
then she felt the clouds lift
and said ‘Thanks for the gift
of my life. Now I think I will stay.’
